7 on 7 off 24/7 coverage Monday – Sunday 8am-8pm
Hospitalist handle all admissions
Starting @ 8 – round on consults throughout the day
14-19 patients daily, working with part-time NeuroHospitalist and NP
Consults only,
Hospitalists and ED admit
8 am to 6 pm: NeuroHospitalists respond to the IN House Stroke Alerts only.
After 6 pm: Rapid Response Nurse responds and the Attending Physician or On-Call Physician is notified (Hospitalist or Intensivist).
All Stroke Alerts that come through the ED are Reached (Remote Evaluation of Acute Ischemic Stroke) (TeleStroke)

Equipment- Neurology Floor Unit: 23-beds (8 South pavilion)
Stroke Progressive Care Unit: 16-beds (9 North pavilion)
Trauma ICU: 20-beds and doubles as the Stroke ICU
NO Epilepsy Monitoring Unit but can monitor Epilepsy patients with 24-hour EEG on the Stroke Unit. No subspecialist within the Neurology team

NeuroHospitalists read Vascular US, Carotid US, TCD (Trans Cranial Doppler), Venus Studies, Nerve Conduction Studies, EEG, and Video-EEG.
